Updates

Spring is nearly here and barrel racing is starting to pick up!
Your district executive are busy planning for mini finals and we're pretty darn excited... we have big goals to make this year's mini finals great. Please check back here and at our district website to keep updated.

One small change to note, our Provincial Directors are now Traci Beckman and Jackie Hoover.

As you can see to the right there are some jackpots booked. Even if you and your horse aren't ready to run why not come out to cheer on your friends and help out where needed? And if you do attend as a competitor check to see if there's anything you can do to help. Sometimes it can be a bit of a challenge to host a jackpot, and even if there is enough help in place its nice to know that your fellow members are there to support you. :)

Sandhill's Jackpots

For those planning, or considering, attending the jackpots at Sandhills please be advised that strangles is still a concern at Sandhills at this time.
Connie has recently sent out an e-mail updating and reminding everyone on the e-mail mailing list to inform them. If you are not on the mailing list please contact a member of the board with your information.

Important News!

An important announcement regarding the Sandhills jackpot this weekend has been e-mailed out to several members by Connie. For those of you who don't check your e-mail often, or are not on the e-mail list here is the message:

Hello everyone!

Our first district 1 jackpot for 2010 will soon be here!

Charlie has asked me to share some information with you BEFORE you head out to the jackpot. They have a couple of horses that have broke out with "STRANGLES". If you are unsure in any way I suggesting that you talk with YOUR VET and ask him/her what the risks are if you are at a facility who has strangles.

It is YOUR decision as to whether or not YOU CHOOSE to come, knowing they have confirmed cases of strangles.

Thank you to Dewitt's for informing us prior to us attending the jackpots. We appreciate it!!

Also I want to confirm the ENTRY FEES, they are as follows:

OPEN $20.00 per horse rider combination

$1.00 timer fee per Open entry (1 time per jackpot)

$4.00 arena fee

OR
$5.00 arena fee per family LIVING in the same house.

$15.00 per YOUTH horse rider combination

$10.00 in poles

There is NO timer fee for the youth BUT the arena fee does apply.

IMPORTANT
Anyone born in 1991 and to present date MUST wear a certified riding helmet at all times while on a horse.

REMINDER
Please being in all your bottles for our fundraiser.

I thank you in advance for your anticipated support in these matters.

If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact me or one of your district 1 board members.
